The Sacrament of Confirmation
Confirmation deepens our baptismal life that calls us to be missionary witnesses of Jesus Christ in our families, neighborhoods, society, and the world. We receive the message of faith in a deeper and more intensive manner with great emphasis given to the person of Jesus Christ, who asked the Father to give the Holy Spirit to the Church for building up the community in loving service.

Preparation

Confirmation Preparation
for 2025 cohort is now open!
Students ages 14-18 are invited to participate in preparation for the sacrament of Confirmation this fall. Classes will begin October 2nd and run through February of 2025 Students will receive a comprehensive catechetical preparation, reflect on their own spiritual journeys, and grow in communion with their peers also preparing. Classes will run in-person at SJF, and follow all up-to-date OHA safety guidelines.
Course cost: $50 per student

Dear Parents,
Hi, My name is Darlene Sheridan, and I am the Sacramental Prep Coordinator for St. John Fisher parish. I would like to invite your seventh grader, eighth grader or high schooler to join us to prepare for Confirmation.
It is an exciting time in your family’s life, and deepening our relationship with God, the Holy Spirit, is very important. My goal for your child is to understand the Sacrament of Confirmation and how it should lead our lives. We’ll be studying the Bible, learning about prayer, and understanding the role of the Holy Spirit in our lives. Emphasis will be on our personal relationship with Jesus.Our class will meet about twice a month, and we’ll have a parent meeting on Sunday, Sept. 22nd from 12:15-1 to share important information.
